This tour is another hommage to a great book “The Cannibal Queen: A Flight Into The Heart Of America” by Stephen Coonts which tells the story of an epic cross country flight all over America, done by the author himself in 1991. Coonts was flying a Boeing Stearman with a Lycoming engine (more powerful than the standard Continental).
He only had maps and charts, compass and a wristwatch to navigate. We’re retracing all the legs he flew at our own pace (and with some more stop overs in between), using MSFS2020 and a Stearman from DC Designs (Payware, but very reasonable price) plus a free realism mod which makes the DC-Stearman even better.
This is only the first part of the long tour which brings us towards the East Coast of the USA. There will be a separate, second tour which recounts the legs which went to the West Coast.
If you’re interested in getting the book, I’d kindly ask you (as usual) to not buy it at a large online retailer but instead support your local book store.
