IceFireAir Virtual Airline (“we,” “our,” or “us”, or "VA") is a non-commercial, hobby-based project dedicated solely to providing virtual airline services. This policy outlines how we handle and protect the information of visitors and registered users. We keep data collection to a minimum.

  • User Registration Information: If you choose to register on our website, we collect the following information:

    • Name – This is used to identify you as a member of our virtual airline community.
    • Email Address – This is used to manage your account, including password resets and communication about our services.

  • IP Addresses: For security reasons, IP addresses of visitors are temporarily logged by our web server. This is done solely to protect against unauthorized access or misuse of our website and is not used for tracking or analysis purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the purposes of providing and improving the services of our virtual airline website. Specifically:

  • Account Management – Your name and email address are used to maintain your user account.
  • Security Monitoring – IP address logging helps us monitor and maintain the security of our website. Logged IP addresses are stored only temporarily and are not linked to any personal data for tracking or analytics.

3. Tracking & Analytics

We do not track users or collect analytics data on the website. We do not use advertising networks or any third-party tracking software on the website.

We track virtual flights from users, if they decide to install an ACARS software which extracts telemetry data from the flight simulator software, or if they choose to submit a PIREP form. The purpose for collecting this data is to be able to display the progression, achievements etc. of each pilot in a closed area on the website which is only available to registered members of the VA.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We are only using mandatory cookies & other means of browser storage for neccessary session handling, so users are able to use account functionality on the website.

5. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or distribute your information to third parties. The only external service used on our website is OpenStreetMap (OpenTopoMap) to display maps within the virtual airline environment, which operates independently of our site’s data.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data collected on our site. However, as no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. User Rights

As a user, you have the right to:

  • Access the information you’ve provided to us.
  • Correct any inaccuracies in your data.
  • Delete your account and any associated information by contacting us via email, see address at the end of the document.
